Matthew D. Balzarini, Region 8 Director of the California School Boards Association & Trustee of the Lammersville Unified School District Board, endorses Reno Ursal for Assessor.
Mr. Balzarini represents the Lammersville Joint Unified School District as Region 8 Director of the California School Boards Association (CSBA) and also currently serves as Commissioner of the San Joaquin County Juvenile Justice / Delinquency Prevention Commission.
CSBA is the nonprofit education association representing elected officials who govern public school districts and county offices of education. With a membership of nearly 1,000 educational agencies statewide, CSBA brings together school governing boards, and administrators from districts and county offices of education to advocate for effective policies that advance the education and well-being of the state’s more than 6 million school-age children. A membership-driven association, CSBA provides policy resources and training to members, and represents the statewide interests of public education through legal, political legislative, community and media advocacy.
The San Joaquin County Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Commission mission is to serve the community and its youth by encouraging positive citizenship, preventing delinquency, and advocating for the effectiveness of the justice system. The Commission is focused on prevention programs in the community.
Mr. Balzarini has been Trustee for the Lammersville Unified School District since 2010, serving as Board President in 2012, 2015 and 2016. During his tenure, the school district has many successes district-wide. Most notably is the construction and opening of Questa Elementary School (2010), Mountain House High School (2014) and Hansen Elementary school (scheduled to open August 2018). He has been an active member of the County communities and is a familiar face to Mountain House students, parents, faculty and community members.
